Top 10 Songs for Boxing Workouts

For those of you who have followed me on Youtube for awhile you probably already have an idea of what kind of music I like to train to. On some older videos I had to mute the sound back before you could keep the song and give recognition. My music taste overall covers a wide range, but when it comes to hitting the gym my music preference typically fall within the hip hop genre. Below is my top 10 list of favorite songs for boxing workouts, as the years have gone on these songs have regularly found their way back to my mp3 Boxing folder (or on my mix CD’s back in the day).

Actually, I think we’ve gone a bit overboard with some of the music at my club. Some guys put it on so loud you can’t even think. Maybe I’m getting old?! Most of the time I like it to be way in the background. The sound of heavy bags and ropes is enough music for me. That being said, I tend to work a little harder during This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars. And laugh if you will, but Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye gets me shadow boxing like Sugar Ray Leonard. Don’t judge!! Give it a try and you’ll be bobbing and weaving, slipping and sliding, and going pop pop pop with your jabs.

As soon as I heard that Gotye song I downloaded it! The music doesn’t lie, if it puts you in the mood then use it. There used to be a guy at my old gym who put slow jams on his mix CD, he was tough and had over 50 fights so everyone was pretty quiet lol.

Run This Town by jay z and rhianna. And I listen to alot of Tech N9ne’s fast paced songs. they get the blood flowing. Like Industry is Punks. cant go wrong
